CBS 47 WINS BEST
NEWSCAST… AGAIN
(Fresno,
November 3, 2006) CBS 47 has received yet another Best Newscast
honor in 2006. The Northern California Radio-Television News Directors
Association presented the prestigious award to Executive Producer Rudy
Buehler in San Francisco on Saturday, October 28th. Judges lauded CBS
47’s newscast especially noting “good, fast-paced story-telling, crisp
editing and great breakout stories that included the anchors.”
Also winning RTNDA awards were reporter Amy Allen and Photojournalist
Justin Terro. They won for Best Weather Segment/Story which covered
flooded families in Fresno this past Spring. Anchor/Reporter Paul
Loeffler and Photojournalist Justin Terro also won Best Multi-Part
Series for their “Stories of Service.” Those reports profiled
still-living members of the “Greatest Generation” who served in World
War Two.
Earlier this year, the Associated Press also named CBS 47 the best
medium market newscast in California. It appears no other medium market
news organization in California has received two major Best Newscast
awards in 2006.
“This kind of recognition is gratifying” says CBS 47 News Director Jim
Holland. “It shows the quality and the dedication of everyone at CBS 47
to air a great product, every day.”
