CALL TO ACTION!

Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce issues a “Call to Action” to membership. Letters of support are requested to include in the final grant proposal for the of the Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley

CCHCC Members & Amigos:

In mid January the chamber submitted a five page concept proposal to the Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley Seed Grant committee. This partnership was established by the Governor to help the San Joaquin Valley on a variety of levels.

The Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is happy to announce that we were selected to submit a full proposal due on March 2, 2007. We are expanding on our concept proposal “Bi-lingual Basics for Small Business Portal & Travel Guide”.

About our proposal:
These two projects will help everyone in Central California. The bi-lingual basics for small business site will help individuals, business, students and people in rural communities learn about how to establish and deploy their own business via the web or in person seminars. There are other amazing aspects to this project that we cannot reveal due to the competitive nature of this process. We look forward to sharing them with you at a later date.

The bi-lingual travel guide and companion website will promote Central California as a tourist destination to the world. With these additional funds we will be able to expand on the distribution of the bi-lingual travel guide, the complexity of the bi-lingual travel website and the impact of our feature event, 4th National Parks Family Day set for June 9th 2007 at Roeding Park. National Parks Family Day will be expanded to a two day event should we get this funding. The second day will include a trip for interested families to Sequoia National Park to learn more about their importance to the region.

How you can help:
We need letters of support for our project to include in our final report due on March 2, 2007. Please see the sample letter below to guide you. When you are done and have signed it you can fax it to 559-495-4811 or you may email it to info@cchcc.net. Please note that we are the only Chamber of Commerce to submit a proposal to the partnership. You can also make a donation.

Thank you for your support!

Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley

Re: Bi-lingual Basics for Small Business Portal & Travel Guide

Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley Seed Grant Committee:

This letter is in support for the Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce proposal “Bi-lingual Basics for Small Business Portal & Travel Guide” seed grant for the Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley.

The Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is the oldest and largest Hispanic Business organization in the valley. Since 1983 they have consistently advocated on behalf of business and commerce in the region.

I strongly urge the committee to support the “Bi-lingual Basics for Small Business Portal and Travel Guide”. These two projects will help everyone in Central California. The bi-lingual basics for small business site will help individuals, business, students and people in rural communities learn about how to establish and deploy their own business via the web or in person seminars. Other aspects of this project will be a ground breaking step forward for the entire region.

The bi-lingual travel guide and companion website will promote Central California as a tourist destination to the world. With these additional funds they will be able to both expand on the distribution of the bi-lingual travel guide, the complexity of the bi-lingual travel website and the impact of their exciting event, 4th National Parks Family Day set for June 9th 2007 at Roeding Park. This award winning regional event attracts thousands of families to learn about the important of our parks. With this funding they will be able to take families to the parks to experience them in person.

These two projects will give the region the much needed push for promoting the San Joaquin Valley as a destination point and at the same time develop businesses that will diversify the regional economy. I strongly urge the committee to approve funding for these worthy projects.

Sincerely,
