Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Leadership Honored as "Hispanic Heroes" at Hispanic Youth Symposium

CCHCC President Eligio Nava & Executive Director John Hernandez were honored to attend the 2nd Annual Hispanic Youth Symposium held at Fresno State on August 3rd and 4th. These two individuals were honored as "Hispanic Heroes" and each spent time counseling and high school students from all over the valley. They were two of 20 individuals picked to participate in the Hispanic Heroes program.

CCHCC President Eligio Nava elaborated that he would like to see more direct involvement and collaboration around education. "I think this (education) is an important part of the chamber. We need to stress that."

John Hernandez also pointed out the importance of education and giving back to the community. "As an alumni of Fresno State I like to come on campus and visit with the students or potential students. I enjoy talking with the students about their future. I think we did some good here."
