Lucy Ruiz
Biography

Lucy Ruiz is the Community Services Director at CBS 47 On Your Side. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee (M.A.) and the University of the Pacific (B.A.), Lucy was born in Wichita, Kansas and raised in Pittsburg, California.

She began her career at KNBC in Burbank. After a year in the newsroom she became a Producer/Researcher for David Horowitz Fight Back Reports.

Lucy enjoys volunteering her time in the community. She currently serves on the board for the American Heart Association and is an active member of the East Fresno Kiwanis club. She also serves on the steering committee of Bench, Bar, Media.

Lucy is an active member of Padres Unidos at Clovis West High School. She is on the School Business Partnerships Task Force.

In addition, she’s an advisory member for the Fresno Childhood Immunization Coalition, the Public Relations Committee for Workforce Investment Board and the Media Selection Advisory Committee for Restricted Use Materials for the Fresno County Office of Education.

She is a judge and presenter for the annual Volunteer of the Year awards. Lucy serves on the Fresno Compact Business/Education Partnership Steering Committee.

She has been involved with several other local organizations including Fresno West Coalition for Economic Development Secretary, Fresno Police Activities League Board Member, Arts to Zoo Advisory Council Co-Chair, Fresno Area Congregations Together, F.O.O.D. Inc. Board Member, Fresh Food Link Treasurer, Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board Member, Juntos Ganaremos Voter Registration Board Member, 47Friends Board Member, Junior League of Fresno Advisor, Project Lean Coalition Advisor, CSUF Extended Education Advisor, CSU Summer Arts Advisor, Fresno Regional Foundation NAC Steering Committee, CSUF Steering Committee for NEH $50,000 grant, League of Mexican American Women Mariposa Mentor, Cooper Middle School S.T.A.R. Reading Mentor, Little League baseball, softball and soccer coach. Lucy has won many awards on the local and state level for her community involvement. Lucy lives in Fresno with her two children.
