Today, Citi announced that it has reached an agreement with the U.S. government and its regulators to repay the $20 billion of TARP outstanding and to terminate the loss-sharing agreement with the government. These steps will be taken in conjunction with the U.S. Treasury's plan to sell its $25 billion common equity stake in the company over the next year. For more information on the transactions involved, please see Citi's press release at http://www.citigroup.com/citi/press/2009/091214a.htm.
